Sky Blue FC Returns to Yurcak Field for 2014 Season

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Feb. 9, 2014) - Sky Blue FC released its 2014 regular season schedule on Friday, Feb. 7, revealing the club will once again play its home games at Yurcak Field - the home of Rutgers soccer.
Sky Blue FC's first of 12 home contests will come on Saturday, April 19 against the Portland Thorns FC, with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. That match marks the Sky Blue FC home debut of recent Rutgers women's soccer alumna, Jonelle Filigno, who was allocated to the squad on Jan. 3. It will be her first game at Yurcak Field since Nov. 3, 2013, when RU defeated Cincinnati, 2-1, in double overtime in the American Athletic Conference quarterfinals.
Filigno became one of 16 Canadian National Team members to be selected for allocation, while 26 Americans and eight Mexicans were also allocated by their respective federations.
The Canadian National Team product finished her impressive career "On the Banks" in first place all-time with 17 game-winning goals, fourth with 33 goals and 79 points and sixth with 187 shots.
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a nine-team Division-I women's professional soccer league featuring national team players from Canada, Mexico and USA. The nine clubs are the Boston Breakers, Chicago Red Stars, FC Kansas City, Houston Dash, Portland Thorns FC, Seattle Reign FC, Sky Blue FC, the Washington Spirit and the Western New York Flash.
