PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 10, 2014) - Rutgers men's lacrosse freshman A Connor Murphy (Clifton, Va.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday.
Murphy scored five goals and totaled four assists for nine points in two games on the week. In the 9-8 overtime win over No. 20 Army (March 4), the freshman scored one goal and added an assist. He also scooped the ground ball after an Army turnover late in overtime that led to the game-winning goal by RU's Scott Klimchak.
The freshman had a stellar game in his first career start vs. Monmouth (March 8). He posted career highs in goals (4), assists (3), points (7) and ground balls (3). He became the first Rutgers players since Feb. 18, 2011 to post seven points in a single game.

Klimchak was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 24.
Rutgers next plays its first BIG EAST game of the season, taking on Providence in Providence, R.I., on Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m.
