Intrabartola & Sbrilli Named to IWLCA All-Regional Second Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 12, 2014) - Senior Chelsea Intrabartola (Commack, N.Y.) and redshirt junior Lauren Sbrilli (Martinsville, N.J.) of the Rutgers women's lacrosse team were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2014 All-Mid Atlantic Second Team, the association announced Monday. 128 Division I student-athletes were selected to an all-regional team, and are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American team.

Both Intrabartola and Sbrilli were All-BIG EAST First Team honorees. For Intrabartola, the all-regional selection is the second of her career. Last season, the defender was also named to the second team.

Sbrilli led Rutgers offensively in 2014, finishing with a team-best 37 points on 30 goals while adding 19 draw controls. The midfielder tallied eight multi-goal games and five hat tricks in 17 games for the Scarlet Knights.

Intrabartola started all 18 games on defense for Rutgers and ranked second on the squad in caused turnovers (16). She also scooped up 19 ground balls in her final season "On the Banks."

Head coach Laura Brand-Sias has now mentored 33 all-region selections in her tenure at Rutgers.

IWLCA All-America selections will be announced on Monday, May 19.
