MLAX Adds Two Transfers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - With the start of classes for the spring semester Tuesday, Rutgers men's lacrosse added to two transfers to the 2015 roster. Jeff George and Alex Schoen will join Rutgers for the upcoming season and will be immediately eligible to compete.

Prior to Rutgers: Played 2014 season at UMass … t otaled the fourth-most points among Minutemen with 15 points on 10 goals and five assists … recorded at least one point in 10 of 13 games ... had 32 shots on goal … picked up five groundballs … earned CAA Academic Achievement Award … was a four-year letterwinner at Watchung Hills Regional High School for head coach Jamie Lovejoy ... 2013 U.S. Lacrosse All-America ... Skyland Conference and Courier News New Jersey Player of the Year as a senior ... Two-time All-Skyland Conference and All-State First Team (2012-13) ... Garden State Games MVP as a junior in 2012 ... New Jersey Ledger All-Junior (2012), All-Sophomore (2011) and All-Freshman (2010) ... Second Team All-Skyland Conference in 2011 ... Finished with the most points in Watchung Hills boy's lacrosse history with 219 on 150 goals and 69 assists ... Averaged 5.2 points per game as a senior, totaling 93 on 64 goals and 29 assists ... Also played football and basketball at Watchung Hills ... Was an honor roll student throughout high school ... Played as part of the Mendham Summer League as well, winning back-to-back championships ... Volunteered with 2 Knights Lacrosse … son of Jeff and Joan George ... sisters are Lauren and Kristen … born Sept. 15, 1994.

Prior to Rutgers: Spent 2014 at Syracuse, lettering in football, where he played in six games… as a senior at Millburn HS named to the New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse League Waterman Division first team as well as New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Group 3 first team … had a 79.5 winning percentage on faceoffs … named Millburn High Scholl Varsity Club Athlete of the Year … team captain in both lacrosse and football … parents are Steven and Denise Schoen … has one sister, Samantha … born March 31, 1995.
The Scarlet Knights open the season on Feb. 7 at St. John's. The home opener is Feb. 21 against Virginia. Season tickets remain on sale now.
