PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 18, 2015) - Rutgers field hockey wrapped up its home schedule on Sunday with a Senior Day matchup against No. 7 Maryland. The Terrapins earned a 4-0 victory in the game, improving to 13-3, 6-0 Big Ten.
Prior to the game, Rutgers honored a four member senior class: Katie Champion, Carley Hawkins, Nicole Imbriaco¸ and Ali Stever. The team also recognized redshirt junior Alyssa Bull, an original member of that class who will return next season as a redshirt senior.
"This is a really special group for me," head coach Meredith Civico said. "They've been with me through my first four years as the head coach here. I can't say enough about them with regard to the culture and the atmosphere they've created for our program. They are four really incredible people and I'm lucky to have a group like them leading the team."
Maryland completed all of its scoring in the first half. Welma Luis opened the scoring 2:15 into the game and completed a hat trick to lead the Terps. Carrie Hanks also tallied for Maryland.
