PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 22, 2015) - Rutgers field hockey will conclude its season with three straight road contests, beginning this weekend with a matchup at American University on Friday. The game will begin at 3 p.m. at the William I. Jacobs Recreation Complex. There will be a free video stream available of the game.

The Scarlet Knights are currently 6-9, 0-7 Big Ten. RU took Penn State to overtime last weekend, falling 3-2, and also dropped a game against Maryland. Freshman Linde van Schaik tallied her first career goal on a penalty stroke against PSU.

On Sunday Rutgers celebrated Senior Day, recognizing graduating seniors Katie Champion, Carley Hawkins, Nicole Imbriaco and Ali Stever. The senior quartet combined for 229 games in a Scarlet Knight uniform, with a total of 40 goals and 102 points between them. The team also recognized redshirt junior Alyssa Bull, an original member of that class who will return next season as a redshirt senior.

Imbriaco leads the team with 11 goals and 25 points, both career-highs. Champion (five goals, five assists) and Rachel Yaney (six goals, three assists) are second on the team with 15 points. Champion entered RU's top-ten list all time in goals and points last weekend. She needs one goal to move into seventh and four points to move into ninth all-time. Imbriaco is two goals away from 10th place all-time, and one goal from seventh on the single season list.

American enters the weekend at 9-5, 4-1 in the Patriot League. They will play a pair of Big Ten squads this weekend, also hosting Indiana on Sunday. AU previously faced Maryland this season, falling 6-1.

Natalie Konerth leads the Eagles with 23 points (seven goals, nine assists), while Rafaela Rubas is second in points (22) with a team-high nine goals. Between the pipes, Kate McBeaeth has made 13 starts with a 2.35 goals-against-average and a .652 save percentage.

Rutgers has never defeated American, sitting on a 0-5 record in the all-time series. The last matchup was in 2010, a 3-1 Eagles victory.
