PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Goals from each side in the second half forced No. 25 Rutgers women's soccer and Michigan to extra time Sunday at Yurcak Field, but neither squad could find the game-winner in the 1-1 double overtime draw.

Both Rutgers (9-2-1, 2-2-1 Big Ten) and Michigan (8-4-1, 3-1-1 Big Ten) closed their weekends with four points in league action, as the Scarlet Knights look ahead to a match versus Indiana Thursday at Yurcak Field in a short week.

"I'm happy with the weekend," said head coach Mike O'Neill. "What I mean by that is we had two tough opponents and didn't have a lot of rest. The team we played today had an extra day's rest and I think the effort that the kids gave for both games was inspiring. I'm never happy with a tie, but we continue to grow every day and we took another step."

The Wolverines tallied the first goal of the match in the 58th minute moments after a corner kick. After the Wolverines won the second ball, Abby Kastroll pushed it forward along the far side to Taylor Timko. Nearing the end line, Timko centered the cross in front to Corinne Harris, who buried the shot for the 1-0 edge.

Rutgers got on the board in the 72nd minute of play, courtesy of senior defender Brianne Reed's (Tinton Falls, N.J.) patented flip throw. From the far sideline and nearly 35 yards out, Reed heaved the ball into the box, which bounced around and off a Michigan defender into the back of the net.

RU ratcheted up the pressure in extra time, recording five of its 11 total shots in the 20 minutes of play. Senior Hayley Katkowski (Westford, Mass.) and juniors Madison Tiernan (Voorhees, N.J.) and Jennifer Andresen (Wyckoff, N.J.) each put shots on frame in overtime.

Sophomore goalkeeper Casey Murphy (Bridgewater, N.J.) made a season-high six stops in the draw. Her goals-against average stands at 0.33 for the season.

Sunday's contest marked RU's annual "Pink Out Game" as the Scarlet Knights donned pink uniforms for breast cancer awareness.

Rutgers hosts Indiana (3-5-5, 0-2-3 Big Ten) on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at Yurcak Field. The match will stream live online via BTN Plus.
