Rutgers Unveils "Pay Your Tuition" Contest

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics today announced an exciting "Pay Your Tuition" contest for the 2015-16 men's and women's basketball seasons that provides students an opportunity to win at least $10,000 and up to $35,000 for making a series of four shots in 25 seconds.
At every Rutgers basketball home game, except for the seven during Winter Break, a student will have an opportunity to win the pot grand prize that starts at $10,000. If the randomly chosen student who attends the game does not complete the layup, free throw, three pointer and half-court shot in that order in 25 seconds, the pot increases $1,000. This contest includes men's and women's games, so the pot has the potential to hit $35,000 by the final home game of the season (March 5).
Students will have the opportunity to sign up before each game to participate in the contest. During a second half timeout, one randomly selected student will be chosen to take part in the contest.
If the student completes the four shots in the allotted 25 seconds and wins the prize, the pot begins again at $10,000 at the next home game.
Even if the student does not hit the half-court shot, he/she won't be going home empty handed, as each successful shot will earn the contestant a prize. The layup will earn the student a t-shirt pack. The free throw earns the student a pizza hand delivered to his/her seat. The three-pointer earns the student two tickets to the Loge Box overlooking the court.
