Nardella B1G Specialist of Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers midfielder Joe Nardella was named Big Ten Conference Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It was the second consecutive week that Nardella was named the league's Specialist of the Week.
The Cazenovia, N.Y. native has been one of the best in the nation on faceoffs this season, and was 33-of-44 (.750) at the faceoff `X' in two games this week, winning 19-of-27 against No. 10/13 Princeton and 14-of-17 in a victory over NJIT. For the season, Nardella is 155-of-223 on faceoffs, a .695 winning percentage that tops the conference and is third in the nation. His 155 total wins are the most in the country.
Nardella also collected 17 ground balls in the two games, tying his season-high with 13 versus Princeton. His 9.10 ground balls per game are 1st in the B1G and 3rd in the nation, while his 91 total ground balls are the most in the country. Nardella also scored a goal and had a caused turnover vs. Princeton, and added an assist vs. NJIT.
Nardella is a member of the 2015 Tewaaraton Award Watch List and is a candidate for the Senior Class Award.
Next up for Nardella and the Scarlet Knights is the inaugural Big Ten Conference matchup, a road battle with Johns Hopkins at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally by ESPNU.
