WLAX Faces Defending Champion Maryland

PISCATAWAY, N.J.- Rutgers women's lacrosse travels to College Park, Md. Saturday to take on No. 1/1 Maryland at noon. The contest will stream live online via BTN Plus.
The Scarlet Knights and Terrapins will meet for the first time in nearly 20 years. UMD will represent the sixth ranked opponent for RU through 13 games this season.

Knight Notes
- Redshirt senior Lauren Sbrilli (Martinsville, N.J.) scored twice last time out against Lehigh to go over 100 for her career.
- Sbrilli has scored 14 goals over the last five games.
- Senior goalie Candice Dandridge (Cherry Hill, N.J.) leads the Big Ten Conference with 8.5 saves per game.
- Redshirt senior Hollie DiMuro (West Babylon, N.Y.) is fourth in the Rutgers record books with 77 career caused turnovers. She is within reach of third-place Robin Erthal (1996-99), who has 81, and second-place Nadia Rogala (1996, 98-00), who has 83.
Last Time Out
Rutgers outshot the opposition and controlled on draw controls, but fell, 10-8, to Lehigh Tuesday evening at High Point Solutions Stadium.
The Scarlet Knights bested the Mountain Hawks in shots, 22-15, and on the draw, 12-7, but could not overcome Lehigh's 5-for-6 output in 8-meter attempts on the night.
Junior attacker Kim Kolodny (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led Rutgers with a hat trick, scoring her final goal of the game with 41 seconds remaining in regulation.
Scouting Maryland
No. 1/1 Maryland is a perfect 11-0 this season. The defending champion Terps defeated Georgetown, 12-3, Wednesday to extend their nation-leading winning streak to 21 games dating back to last year's championship run.
Six Maryland players -- Taylor Cummings, Megan Douty, Brooke Griffin, Kelly McPartland, Alice Mercer and Megan Whittle -- were named to the 2015 Tewaaraton Watch List this season.
Taylor Cummings leads the Terrapins in numerous categories, including points (56), assists (22), ground balls (23), caused turnovers (21) and draw controls (81).
Entering the week, she was fifth in the nation in draw controls, ninth in points per game, 16th in total points and 20th in caused turnovers.
In cage, Alex Fitzpatrick has proven herself as one of the best goalkeepers in the country. Her .523 save percentage was the fourth-best mark in Division I to start the week, while her 6.06 GAA was fifth.
