PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers freshman attacker Jules Heningburg was named Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday. The Maplewood, N.J. native had three goals for Rutgers on Sunday night at Penn State, the second hat trick of his career. It was his sixth multi-goal game of the season.
Heningburg has scored 11 goals in his past five games. The Seton Hall Prep product leads the team with seven goals in conference play.
The recognition is Heningburg's second Freshman of the Week award, and the fifth Big Ten award for Rutgers this season. Senior Joe Nardella won Big Ten Specialist of the Week twice, while Chad Toliver also earned a Freshman of the Week accolade.
The Scarlet Knights will host Ohio State at noon on Saturday to conclude the regular season. The game will be Senior Day and Alumni Appreciation Day. Tickets to the game can be purchased here.
