PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers returns to the road as Big Ten Conference play continues as the Scarlet Knights head to Ann Arbor to face the Michigan Wolverines. The game will take place in Michigan Stadium at noon Sunday, and will be live streamed on BTN Plus.
RU played in the inaugural Big Ten Conference men's lacrosse game on Saturday, facing No. 19/20 Johns Hopkins and taking a close 9-7 loss. Scott Bieda leads the Scarlet Knights with 23 goals and 16 assists on the season, ranking fifth in the Big Ten in goals per game (2.09) and third in assists per game (1.45). Christian Trasolini follows with 23 goals of his own and shares the fifth place spot with Bieda on the conference leaders' list. Joe Nardella continues to play a vital role for RU on faceoffs. Nardella leads the nation with 165 faceoff victories and 96 ground balls. Kris Alleyne paces the goalies with 64 saves across nine contests in the cage.
Michigan is coming off a 13-4 loss at No. 3 Maryland and is looking to end a two-game skid. Ian King leads the Wolverines with 22 points, including 12 goals and 10 assists. Mikie Schlosser paces the squad with 13 goals on the season. In the cage, Gerald Logan has denied 118 opponent shots to maintain a 11.41 goals against average. Logan is third in the nation with 13.11 saves per game.
This will be the second all-time contest between Rutgers and Michigan. In the only other lifetime meeting in 2012, RU won a home contest 13-9 over the Wolverines, with then-freshman Brian Goss posting two points in the win.
Sunday's contest between the Scarlet Knights and the Wolverines will mark the first game in a special Michigan Lacrosse Game for Change. The men's and women's lacrosse programs have teamed up with the One Love Foundation to "Unite against Relationship Violence" with a doubleheader event at Michigan Stadium.
