Three Join Field Hockey for 2015

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 19, 2015) -- Rutgers field hockey will welcome three new players to the 2015 roster as Megan Cunningham, Sabrina Shein and Linde van Schaik have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Scarlet Knights.
These three signees join three players announced in the fall for a six-member freshman class. Previously, Rutgers announced that Kelly Hanna (Seaville, N.J.) , Nikki Profita (Washington, N.J.) , and Caitlin Nitschmann (Bordentown, N.J.) will join the squad for the 2015 season.
Megan Cunningham
Forward/Midfield

Prior to Rutgers: Scored 25 goals and compiled 24 assists in high school ... team captain in 2014 ... won three state championships from 2011 to 2013 .... 2014 Blue Streak - Ruden "Fall Player of the Year" ... First Team All-Conference, All-State and All-Area 2014 ... Max Field Hockey All-Northeast Region First Team and All-Connecticut ... First Team MSG Varsity 2014 ... All-East 2013 ... MVP of Senior All-Star State game ... also competed in varsity track and field .... has two sisters, Amanda and Jessica ... parents are Andy and Adrienne.

Sabrina Shein

Prior to Rutgers: Two-time team captain in high school ... won 2013 High School Provincial Championship ... first place at 2013 US National Festival ... won 2012 national title in field hockey ... named to honor roll for five years ... has three siblings, Zach, Taylor and Sam ... parents are Michael and Adele.
Head Coach Meredith Long on Shein: "Sabrina is a technically sound player who I expect to have an impact on the field next season. Her experience at the Rob Short Academy in Canada has allowed her to develop into a quality player who will add intellect to our midfield."
Linde van Schaik
Midfield
Amsterdam, Netherlands/Cygnus Gymnasium
Personal: has one sister, Lisa ... parents are Jennine Panneman and Pim van Schaik
Head Coach Meredith Long on van Schaik: "Linde joins us from Hockey Club Amsterdam, one of the top clubs in the world. She has a great pedigree and is a natural attacker. I expect Linde to make an immediate impact in the Big Ten next season."
