Three Named B1G Preseason Players to Watch

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Feb. 1, 2016) - The Big Ten Conference announced the 2016 Preseason Players to Watch and Preseason Poll on Monday afternoon. Rutgers' Scott Bieda, Zack Sikora and Christian Trasolini were named Players to Watch. Rutgers was picked sixth in the preseason poll.
Bieda, a Bridgewater, N.J., native, is the Scarlet Knights' leading returning scorer and was a First Team All-Big Ten selection last season. The attackman scored 30 goals with 28 assists for 58 points last season, also collecting 16 ground balls. Bieda was recently drafted by Major League Lacrosse's New York Lizards. A Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch for the second consecutive season, Bieda will captain Rutgers this season.
Sikora, a Clifton, Va., native, was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten member last season. The long-stick midfielder collected 48 ground balls in 2015 to go with six goals and two assists. He was drafted into the MLL by the Charlotte Hounds.
Trasolini, a native of New Hyde Park, N.Y., was second on RU with 26 goals and 30 points last season. He has scored 53 goals in 32 career games, 31 of them starts, for 70 points.
The top three teams in the Big Ten Preseason Poll are all ranked in the top-12 nationally, while Penn State is receiving votes in the national polls.
