PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 23, 2016) - Rutgers men's lacrosse redshirt freshman Adam Charalambides was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Tuesday, earning the honors for the second consecutive week. The Georgetown, Ontario native scored four goals in Rutgers' win at Army West Point.
Charalambides has started the season with 10 goals in his first two collegiate games. He scored six goals and added an assist in a 19-11 win in the season opener against St. John's. The attackman followed that up with four goals, including a tally with four seconds left that clinched the victory, in a 13-11 road win at West Point.
Charalambides' five goals per game average is the best mark in the nation. With 11 points on the season he ranks second in the Big Ten in points per game.
