PISCATAWAY, N.J. - After a 3-0 start to the season, the Rutgers men's lacrosse team has entered the national rankings. RU is ranked No. 16 by the Coaches Poll and No. 19 by the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
Rutgers is ranked for the first time since March 10, 2011, when the squad was No. 19 in the country. It is the first time that the Scarlet Knights have been ranked under head coach Brian Brecht. This is the highest that Rutgers has been ranked since reaching No. 16 in March of 2005.
RU ended last season with a 17-10 win over No. 10 Ohio State, the program's first top-10 win since 2003. The squad has continued that momentum with three straight wins to begin the 2016 campaign, downing St. John's (19-11), winning at Army West Point (13-11), and defeating Fairfield (12-6).
The Scarlet Knights are back in action on Tuesday afternoon, when they will play at Wagner. First face off is at 3 p.m.
