PISCATAWAY, N.J. - For the 2016 campaign, Rutgers has one lone season-long captain in senior attacker Scott Bieda. Each week, the team will choose additional "gameday captains". The selected player(s) will be determined based on their individual efforts in the previous game and all practices. The gameday captains will join Bieda in providing leadership during that game.
For the fourth game of the season Tuesday, Rutgers will be at Wagner. The gameday captains are Zack Sikora, Christian Mazzone and Christian Scarpello.
Sikora, a senior long-stick midfielder from Clifton, Va., is a gameday captain for the third time this season. He had two ground balls and a caused turnover in the win over Fairfield.
Mazzone is a redshirt sophomore short stick defensive midfielder from Stony Brook, N.Y. Mazzone had a team-high four ground balls and four caused turnovers in the win Saturday.
Scarpello is a sophomore short stick defensive midfielder from Madison, N.J. Scarpello had four ground balls and an assist on the game-winning goal.
The rope unit also keyed Rutgers versus Fairfield as the squad was a perfect 20-of-20 on clears.
