Charalambides Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse redshirt freshman Adam Charalambides continues to dominate the Big Ten Weekly Awards. The attacker was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Tuesday for the sixth time this season.
In Saturday's win over Delaware, Charalambides shared the team lead with five points (three goals, two assists). It was the fifth time this year he scored at least three goals in a game, and the third time he had at least five points in a game.
The Georgetown, Ontario native has made a huge impact in his debut season. He currently leads both Rutgers and the Big Ten Conference with 25 goals on the season. His 25 goals are second most among all NCAA freshmen. He has also added 11 assists for 36 total points.
Rutgers opens Big Ten play on Saturday night. The Scarlet Knights will host No. 9 Johns Hopkins at 7 p.m. at High Point Solutions Stadium.
