Gameday Captains Announced For Johns Hopkins Game

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -The Scarlet Knights have two permanent captains for this season, a pair of reigning all-Big Ten selections in seniors Scott Bieda and Zack Sikora. The team additionally names gameday captains, recognizing the strong play and leadership of other players. Those players will join in as captains for the upcoming game.
For the next game Saturday night against No. 9 Johns Hopkins, Rutgers gameday captains will be Jules Heningburg, Adam Charalambides, Michael Rexrode and Christian Scarpello.
Heningburg is a gameday captain for the second straight week and third time overall. The Maplewood, N.J. native shared the team lead for points last week with Charalambides, as each had three goals and two assists for five points. With 30 points on the season, he has already surpassed his freshman output and is one tally away from matching his goal-scoring total from last season.
Charalambides is enjoying one of the best freshman campaigns across the nation. The six-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week leads both Rutgers and the Big Ten with 25 goals and has added 11 assists for 36 points overall. This is his second time as a gameday captain.
Rexrode is a leader for Rutgers defense, pacing Rutgers' defenders with 23 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. The Leesburg, Va. native has been a gameday captain for two of the past three contests. In the win over Delaware, he locked down the Blue Hens' leading scorer Andrew Romagnoli, holding him to zero goals.
Scarpello had an excellent all-around game in the win over Delaware Saturday night. The Madison, N.J. native scored his second goal of the season and also had five ground balls. On the season, the three-time gameday captain has 23 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
