Zack Sikora Named Men's Lacrosse Captain

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse announced today that Zack Sikora will be a full-time captain for the rest of the season. Sikora joins Scott Bieda as the team's two permanent captains. The team will continue to recognize other outstanding contributors as gameday captains each week.
Sikora, a senior from Centreville, Virginia, was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Selection last season, when he had six goals, two assists and 48 ground balls in 14 games. He was also a draft pick of Major League Lacrosse's Charlotte Hounds (61st overall).
This season, the long-stick midfielder has two goals, one assist, four caused turnovers and a team-high 22 ground balls through five games. He has been recognized as a gameday captain a team-best four times already this season. Sikora has anchored the rope unit, which has excelled this season en route to the team's 5-0 start, Rutgers best opening record to a season since 2003.
The Scarlet Knights are ranked No. 16 nationally. Their next game comes Friday night at No. 18 Stony Brook.
