PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The 2016 regular season draws to a close Saturday at High Point Solutions Stadium, where Rutgers women's lacrosse battles Michigan at noon. RU will recognize its seven-member senior class prior to opening draw.
RU can finish from fourth to sixth in the Big Ten Conference depending on the weekend's results. An RU win and an Ohio State loss will give the Scarlet Knights the No. 4 seed. Wins by OSU and RU would make the Scarlet Knights No. 5. A loss would place Rutgers at No. 6 entering the tournament.

Scouting Michigan
Michigan (6-10), in its third season as a program, seeks its first win since a 13-1 outing against Niagara on April 12. Since that victory, the Wolverines have faced back-to-back top-10 opponents in Big Ten play, falling to No. 10 Penn State (13-8) on April 17 and No. 1 Maryland (18-8) on April 23.
Junior midfielder Kim Coughlan leads the attack with 31 goals and a team-high 35 points. Tess Korten is the only other Wolverine with at least 20 goals and is second on the team with 31 points (28g, 3a).
Defensively, Michigan has hovered near the top of the league all season, as the team is currently third in goals-against average with a 10.38 mark. Freshman Mira Shane is second in the league with an 8.08 GAA this season.
In the battle for possession, Anna Schueler is sixth in the league with 42 draw controls and a 2.6 per game average.
The Series
A hat trick performance from attacker Amanda Turturro (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and stout defensive effort, including seven saves from goalkeeper Candice Dandridge, guided Rutgers women's lacrosse to a 7-6 victory against Michigan.
The Scarlet Knights captured their first Big Ten Conference victory with the win against the Wolverines, securing the No. 5 seed in the inaugural Big Ten Women's Lacrosse Tournament at High Point Solutions Stadium from April 30-May 3.
National Recognition
Days after being named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, Barnes earned the title of Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Player of the Week along with Johns Hopkins' Shannon Fitzgerald. The award was announced on "Fast Break: IWLCA College Lacrosse Weekly" which airs on Lacrosse Sports Network (LSN).
Barnes scored a career-high six goals, including two game-tying goals and the game-winner, in RU's 13-12 overtime win at home last Thursday against No. 15 Ohio State.
B1G Leaders
Individually, Barnes is tied for second in game-winning goals (3), Amanda Casten (Brick, N.J.) is tied for fourth in ground balls per game (1.73), Bianca Dente (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) is tied for fourth in saves per game (5.21), Turturro is tied for eighth in assists per game (0.93), and Kristina Dunphey (Hillsborough, N.J.) is seventh in shots per game (5.60), eighth in goals per game (2.27), and ninth in points per game (2.80).
B1G-Time Victory
The victory over No. 15 Ohio State was the first for Rutgers in the Big Ten this season, first B1G win at home in program history, first ranked win since a 6-5 triumph over No. 20 Penn on March 6, 2013, and first victory for Rutgers on Big Ten Network.
Battle Tested
Rutgers topped No. 15 Ohio State last Thursday at home for its first ranked win since 2013. The Buckeyes were the seventh ranked opponent for RU this season. The Scarlet Knights also faced No. 12 Northwestern on April 17, No. 1 Maryland on April 9, No. 9 Penn State on April 2, No. 15 Johns Hopkins on Feb. 21, No. 16 Penn on March 2, and No. 19 UConn on March 5.
Last Time Out
Already having a career game with a personal-best goal tally and her 100th point as a Scarlet Knight, Barnes decided to make it a night to remember for Rutgers women's lacrosse.
As the opening three minutes of overtime dwindled, Barnes weaved through traffic and bounced the game-winning goal into the back of the cage - her game-high sixth - to give the Scarlet Knights a 13-12 sudden victory against No. 15 Ohio State on Big Ten Network. The victory was the first for Rutgers in the Big Ten this season and first B1G win at home in program history.
Keepin' it 100
Barnes recorded a new career-high with six goals against OSU. Her third goal of the game made her the second Scarlet Knight in as many contests to reach 100-career points (81g, 22a). Kolodny posted a career-high six points (3g, 3a) Sunday at No. 12 Northwestern to reach the 100-point mark (79g, 24a) for her Rutgers career.
Scarlet Staple
Taylor Pennell (New Egypt, N.J.) has started 54 consecutive games for Rutgers at midfield or defense dating back to her rookie season in 2013 - the longest active streak on the team.
