Paratore, Turturro Placed on B1G All-Tournament Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Sophomore defender Paige Paratore (West Deptford, N.J.) and junior attacker Amanda Turturro (Farmingdale, N.Y.) of Rutgers women's lacrosse were named to the 2016 Big Ten All-Tournament Team, announced Sunday at the conclusion of the tourney.
Turturro accumulated six points (4g, 2a) in two tournament games, including the game-winning goal in overtime of the quarterfinals against No. 19 Ohio State. Paratore contributed all around for the Scarlet Knights across the two games, recording four points (2g, 2a), three draw controls, a ground ball, and caused turnover.
Paratore made 16 starts this season and was consistent on both ends of the field, contributing 13 points (7g, 6a), 15 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and 22 draw controls. Turturro nearly doubled her point production from a year ago and ended the season fourth on the team (17g, 18a). She paced Rutgers with 18 assists.
RU ended the season in the Big Ten Tournament Semifinals against No. 1 Maryland, losing by a 19-9 score to the eventual conference champions. The Scarlet Knights (6-12) won three of their final four games to close the year, including a pair of overtime wins against top-20 Ohio State. The program qualified for a conference tournament semifinal for the second time in three seasons.
