Santore earns Longstreth/NFHCA Weekly Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers field hockey freshman Nikki Santore continued to earn recognition Wednesday for her strong output last week, being recognized by the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Santore was honored as Honorable Mention in the organization's weekly awards.
Santore had three goals and two assists in Thursday's win over Ohio, and followed that up with another goal in Sunday's win over Cornell. With four goals and two assists, her 10-point week was the highest scoring output of the NFHCA's weekly honorees.
The Voorhees, N.J. native currently leads the team with 13 points on the season (five goals, three assists in six games). Her 13 points are the second most among all NCAA freshmen. She is the first Rutgers freshman with five goals in a season since 2013.
