Lane Collects Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week Accolade

Freshman earns first weekly honor of her career
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rookie forward Alaysia Lane garnered Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors after posting the game winner against Michigan in Rutgers' regular season finale.
Lane lifted the Scarlet Knights with a goal in the 34th minute, guiding RU to a 1-0 victory to help the Scarlet Knights secure a home quarterfinal match in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament. She picks up the first weekly honor of her career.
It marked the Plymouth, Minnesota, natives third goal of the season. The first came as RU's first goal of the year in the opener against Loyola Marymount and the second was against Minnesota.
Lane and the Scarlet Knights are slated as the fourth seed in the Big Ten Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Penn State on Sunday. Match time is 1 p.m. at Yurcak Field.
