Women’s Lacrosse Educates Elementary Students on Dangers of Bullying

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse visited James Monroe Elementary School in Edison last week to teach students lessons on the dangers of bullying. Working under the campaign "It's not big to make others look small", members of the program performed a skit in front of the students to spread their message of anti-bullying.
"We taught them what they shouldn't do. They should not convince their friends to bully someone and they should not be mean to someone just because they aren't like them," said sophomore Christina Petito. "You should always treat someone the way you would like to be treated, it doesn't matter what kind of person they are."
This is the second year members of the program preached against bullying, as Rutgers visited the Lincoln Annex School in New Brunswick last fall. After this year's skit, RU student-athletes presented the kids with bracelets and t-shirts.
