Ali Named Women's and Amateur Player of the Year by The Philly Soccer Page

Freshman collects to honors from online soccer magazine
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Freshman forward Amirah Ali was tabbed The Philly Soccer Page's Women's Player of the Year and Amateur Player of the Year, the online soccer magazine announced.
Ali collected numerous accolades in her debut season for Rutgers women's soccer, taking the the honor of Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She also picked up All-Big Ten Third Team, Big Ten All-Freshman Team, and United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Second Team recognition.
The Voorhees, New Jersey, native recorded her first career goal on a single shot in RU's season opening win. From there, the 2016 NCSAA National High School Player of the Year brought her goal total to six, while adding five assists. Three of those assists came in conference play, including helpers on the game winner in overtime at Illinois and the tying goal in the draw at Nebraska.
