Women's Lacrosse Hosts No. 17 Northwestern

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers women's lacrosse (8-6, 2-2 Big Ten) competes in its final home contest of the season when it hosts No. 17 Northwestern Saturday at High Point Solutions Stadium. Opening draw is slated for 11 a.m. ET with the game broadcast on BTN.
Parking Advisory for April 22 game vs. Northwestern The Scarlet Knights' matchup with the Wildcats is part of Rutgers Athletics' "Spring Fever" event on Saturday, which includes the annual Scarlet-White football game along with a free concert by Grammy-nominated country music artists Big & Rich.
RU will also use Saturday's game to help raise money and awareness for the HEADstrong Foundation, a charity that helps families afflicted with cancer. The Scarlet Knights will "go lime" and wear green shoelaces and headbands during the contest.

Scouting Northwestern
The Wildcats enter Saturday's contest after they defeated then-No. 20 Duke, 12-10, in Evanston, Ill. Shelby Fredericks had a team-high five points (3g, 2a) to help NU pull away from the Blue Devils.
Christina Esposito leads Northwestern in points (44) and goals (34) in 15 games played. Fredericks has dished out a team-leading 18 helpers to pace the Wildcats.
Fredericks also has a team-high 111 draw controls, averaging 7.93 per game. Her draw control average is fourth in the NCAA.
Mallory Weisse has played all but 2:30 in between the pipes for Northwestern and has 125 saves and a 10.17 GAA.
The Series
Rutgers is 0-9 all-time against Northwestern, with the programs first meeting in 1988. The Scarlet Knights and Wildcats have met twice in Big Ten play, as NU defeated RU, 20-9, last season in Evanston.
Dunphey's on Fire
Kristina Dunphey has provided Rutgers with an offensive spark recently, collecting 21 goals in her last eight games. Her scoring streak includes back-to-back hat tricks against Niagara and Ohio State, along with her five-goal outing on March 15 against Manhattan. Dunphey now has 119 points during her RU career, good for 17th all-time "On the Banks".
Against the Wolverines, Dunphey added her eighth multi-goal performance of the season and fifth hat-trick to help RU defeat UM, 16-14, on the road.
Balanced Attack
Nine players have scored more than 10 points and 10 goals this season for Rutgers. Dunphey leads the way offensively with 28 goals, while Nicole Kopyta is second with 24 scores. Amanda Turturro owns the second most points for RU with 37 (19g, 17a).
Approaching the 100-Point Club
With two more points, Turturro will become the 24th player all-time to reach the 100-point milestone for a career. Turturro leads the program with 17 assists this season.
Next Time Out
The Scarlet Knights close out the regular season when they compete on the road against Johns Hopkins on Thursday, April 26 in Baltimore. Both programs are fighting for the fourth and final spot in the 2017 Big Ten Conference Tournament, held May 5-7 in College Park, Maryland.
