PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse junior defenseman Michael Rexrode was honored Tuesday by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, when he was named to the All-ECAC Second Team.
The ECAC is composed of 87 members, 45 of whom play men's lacrosse. Rexrode was the lone Big Ten player recognized by the ECAC.
Rexrode led the conference with a career-high 23 caused turnovers. He also collected 28 ground balls. The junior has started in all 40 of his career games.
The Leesburg, Va., native was previously named First Team All-Big Ten and was a Third Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse. He was twice named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
Rexrode is the fourth RU player to earn Second Team All-ECAC honors in the past three years. Last year, Scott Bieda and Zack Sikora were on that listing, while in 2015 Joe Nardella was named a Second Team ECAC All-Star.
