
Navarolli Collects Big Ten Sportsmanship Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Junior Alana Navaroli was named Rutgers women's lacrosse's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient, announced yesterday by the conference.
"Alana is such a great representation of the qualities that we strive to exhibit day in and day out," said head coach Laura Brand-Sias. "She is dedicated, passionate, and driven in everything she does"
Navaroli appeared in all 16 games for the Scarlet Knights this season, which included 13 starts. She finished with 51 draw controls to lead RU in that category. Navaroli averaged 2.7 draw controls per game in Big Ten contests, good for seventh in the conference.
The Skaneateles, New York, native secured her named in the RU record book when she collected 12 draw controls against Manhattan on March 15. The previous mark was 10 from Ali Steinberg against Connecticut on April 3, 2010.
Navaroli joins senior Kristina Dunphey and junior Amanda Casten as Scarlet Knights who received postseason recognition. Casten and Dunphey were named All-Big Ten performers for the second consecutive season.
