Former Scarlet Knight named MLL All-Star
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Former Rutgers men's lacrosse captain Joe Nardella will play in the 2017 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game. The 16th edition of the game will take place at Papa Murphy's Park in Sacramento on Saturday, July 8, and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
Playing in his third season with the Boston Cannons, Nardella has won 150 of his 260 faceoffs, a winning percentage of 57.7%. He has also added three goals and five assists for eight points, and scooped 75 ground balls.
In his senior season at Rutgers, Nardella was a Third Team All-American. The 2015 Big Ten Specialist of the Year was 760-of-1222 (62.2 percent) on faceoffs in his career On the Banks.
"This All-Star Game roster is going to showcase the depth of talent in MLL," Commissioner David Gross said. "You will see familiar faces in the game that have been star performers in the league for several years, but you will also see newer faces that you may not know. There is a wave of young talent coming up in the league that we are excited to have on display."
