PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Former Rutgers women's lacrosse captain and letterwinner Macy Scott was commissioned into the United States Marines Corp. The ceremony, which occurred on Aug. 19, took place right outside of High Point Solutions Stadium. Friends, family and head coach Laura Brand Sias attended.
After Scott graduated this past May, she signed an eight-year air contract to fly for the marines.
"Our program preaches a lot of discipline and accountability, and Macy has always exuded those characteristics," said Brand Sias. "She has been a great example for all of our players, so her taking this step is not a surprise. We're all really proud of her."
A four-year letterwinner for the Scarlet Knights from 2014-17, Scott appeared in 60-career games, including 37 starts. As a senior in 2017, Scott played in all 16 games for RU and finished with 17 points (14 goals, three assists), 21 draw controls and 19 ground balls.
