PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Three former Rutgers men's lacrosse players were selected in the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft.
Jeff George was a seventh round pick by the Atlanta Blaze, Kris Alleyne was a ninth round selection by the Dallas Rattlers, and Zack Sikora was taken in the tenth round by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
George played three seasons in a Rutgers uniform. The midfielder from Warren, N.J. played in 45 games 'On the Banks', scoring 40 goals and adding 20 assists for 60 points from 2015-2017. He was selected for the 2017 North vs. South All-Star Game.
Alleyne was a four-year starter at goalkeeper from 2013-2016, finishing his Rutgers career with 545 saves, fifth all-time in RU history. He had a 10.40 goals-against-average and .529 save percentage for his career. The New City, NY product previously made his MLL debut for the Rattlers in 2017.
Sikora played at Rutgers from 2013 to 2016. The long-stick midfielder was named Honorable Mention All-American and All-Big Ten as a senior in 2016. The team captain played in the North vs. South All-Star game after a season where he led the team with 45 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers, along with scoring seven goals.
In addition to these draftees, four other Rutgers alumni were on MLL protected rosters this past fall: Scott Bieda and Joe Nardella (Boston Cannons), Chris Mattes (Florida Launch) and Justin Pennington (Atlanta Blaze).
