PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 23 Rutgers women's soccer wraps up the regular season with a road trip to Michigan State on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. and a home match versus Purdue on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.
Prior to Sunday's contest, the Scarlet Knights will honor
Adora Moneme, Madison Pogarch, Brianna Scarola, and
Kenie Wright in a Senior Day ceremony.
RUTGERS QUICK KICKS
- Rutgers (9-2-5, 5-1-3) set a new program record with its 10th overtime contest at Ohio State on Friday. The 0-0, double overtime draw marked RU's ninth consecutive overtime. The Scarlet Knights hold a record of 5-0-5 in extra time this season.
- RU suffered its first road loss and first conference loss of the season in a battle for the first place in the Big Ten at Penn State on Sunday. Overall, RU owns a mark of 3-1-2 on the road, including a 2-1-2 in conference play.
- Sophomore forward Amirah Ali leads the Big Ten with 10 total goals this season, including five goals in conference action to rank second in the league. Ali ranks fifth in the NCAA with five game-winning goals this year.
- Junior midfielder Nicole Whitley is tied for the conference lead with seven assists.
- Freshman goalkeeper Meagan McClelland is second in the league in GAA (0.62) and third in shutouts (7).
- Rutgers is in tie for second place in the Big Ten standings, while sitting at No. 27 in the NCAA RPI Rankings. The Scarlet Knights are ranked No. 23 by United Soccer Coaches and No. 24 by Soccer America.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN STATE
- Michigan State (5-7-3, 0-6-2) dropped a pair of 1-0 decisions to Ohio State and Iowa over the weekend.
- Camryn Evans paces the team with seven goals on the season followed by Sadie Misiewicz with four.
- In net, Reilly Ott owns a 1.01 GAA with 75 saves and six shutouts.
- RU holds a 4-0 record in the all-time series with MSU. Most recently, the Scarlet Knights earned a 3-1 victory on the road in 2016.
SCOUTING PURDUE
- Purdue (6-6-4, 1-5-3) fell to Illinois (3-1) on Thursday before drawing with then-No. 25 Northwestern (0-0) on Sunday.
- Kylie Hase leads the Boilermakers with seven goals, while Sarah Clark paces the squad with six assists.
- In net, Katie Luce has seen the most action, maintaining a 0.94 GAA with 45 saves and four shutouts.
- Rutgers leads the series with Purdue, 2-0-1. The last meeting back in 2016, RU earned a 2-1 victory on the road.
- Purdue hosts Ohio State on Thursday before its trip to Rutgers.
