
Chuck Apel To Be Inducted into the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Former Rutgers men's lacrosse player Chuck Apel will be inducted into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame. The induction will take place on January 26, 2019.
Apel played for Rutgers from 1974-77 and was named a Third Team All-American in 1977. He was part of two NCAA Tournament teams while playing for Rutgers.
After graduating from Rutgers in 1977, Apel became the head coach at Bridgewater-Raritan High School and has led the Panthers to over 500 wins. A four-time State champion, Apel won six state sectional championships and had three undefeated seasons, with most recent coming in 2015. He was named the 2015 National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
A 13-time New Jersey Coach of the year, Apel led the United State Under-19 Men's Lacrosse team to 2008 World Championship and was an assistant coach for the 1999 Gold Medal Under-19 team.
