PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers basketball (4-0) picked up its fourth-straight home victory with a 65-39 win over Albany (1-3) on Sunday afternoon at the RAC. The Scarlet Knights gave head coach C. Vivian Stringer 1,001st victory, after helping her reach the history millennium milestone in their last outing.

Four Scarlet Knights finished in double digits, as the Scarlet Knights recorded eight 3-pointers in the game. Redshirt sophomore Arella Guirantes led the way with a career-high four baskets from beyond the arc, totaling 12 points on the afternoon. Senior forward Caitlin Jenkins followed with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for her third double-double the year.

Freshman guard Noga Peleg Pelc and sophomore forward Mael Gilles rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Overall, ten Scarlet Knights contributed to scoring on the night.

Albany was led by Heather Foster with nine points and nine rebounds in the loss.

FIRST QUARTER 
The Scarlet Knights scored seven straight points to start the game, holding the Great Danes scoreless for the opening five minutes. By the end of the frame, Rutgers had established a 17-6 lead allowing just one Albany field goal, as six different Scarlet Knights contributed to scoring. Guirantes led the quarter with six points of her own.

SECOND QUARTER 
Rutgers went on to outscore Albany, 12-7, in the second quarter. The Scarlet Knights closed the first half with seven straight points that were sparked by a Wilson 3-pointer. The surge set the RU lead at 29-13 entering the break.

THIRD QUARTER
Returning from halftime, RU held control of the contest with at least an 18-point margin throughout the third quarter. A 9-0 burst, capped by a career-high third 3-pointer for Guirantes midway through the frame, set the Scarlet Knights' advantage at 46-17 for its largest margin at that point of the night.

FOURTH QUARTER
Albany carried a 7-0 surge of its own into the fourth frame, which began with five points from the Great Danes' Conroy to close the third. Sophomore guard Tekia Mack halted the energy with a layup with 8:04 on the clock. The teams would trade points throughout the final quarter. Rutgers, however, held at least a 20-point margin for the remainder of the contest. Mack closed out the victory with a 3-pointer to set the decision by 26 points.

• Rutgers improved to 4-0 for the second-straight season and for the 16^th time in school history.
• Tekia Mack made her first appearance of 2018-19 after missing the first three games with an elbow injury.
• Albany's 13 field goals were the fewest by an opponent since FDU's 13 on Dec. 10, 2017.
• Caitlin Jenkins performed her third double-double of the season thru four games and 21^st of her career. Jenkins went perfect on the afternoon going 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
