Men’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 12 in Preseason by Inside Lacrosse

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse is ranked No. 12 in the nation in the preseason rankings released by Inside Lacrosse in their preseason Face-off Yearbook.
The Scarlet Knights have been nationally ranked in every poll since April of 2016. The team has won at least nine games over the past three seasons, the first time accomplishing that feat in program history. RU defeated four ranked teams and qualified for the Big Ten Tournament for the second time in program history.
This year's 14-game schedule features nine matchups against teams ranked in these preseason rankings. The Big Ten has all six teams ranked in the top-20, as RU will host No. 3 Maryland and No. 19 Michigan, while traveling to No. 9 Johns Hopkins, No. 10 Penn State and No. 17 Ohio State. The Scarlet Knights will also play host to No. 4 Loyola, No. 13 Lehigh and No. 14 Princeton, while traveling to No. 11 Syracuse.
RU will also host two scrimmages against ranked teams, No. 15 Albany and No. 22 Villanova.
Five teams ranked in the top-20 will visit HighPoint.com Stadium this season and season tickets are now on sale for the low price of $40. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-866-445-GORU (4678) or ordering online via ScarletKnights.com. Rutgers will also host the Big Ten Tournament on May 2-4.
Under head coach Brian Brecht, Rutgers has compiled a 30-15 record over the past three seasons.The Scarlet Knights return six starters from last season in attackmen Kieran Mullins and Tommy Coyne, midfielders Casey Rose and Ryan Gallagher, defenseman Garrett Bullett and goalkeeper Max Edelmann. RU also brings back long-stick midfielders Kyle Pless and Garrett Michaeli, in addition to Mark Christiano at short-stick defensive midfielder and 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Adam Charalambides on attack.
