PISCATAWAY – The 2018-19 Big Ten Conference men's and women's basketball schedules will be announced via B
1G Basketball & Beyond: Schedule Release Edition on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. ET on BTN. Host Rick Pizzo will be joined by analysts Shon Morris and Christy-Winters Scott on the special edition show, which can be streamed on the
FOX Sports app and
BTN2Go.
The Big Ten previously announced the opponent breakdown and home-and-home match-ups for 2018-19.
The men's team, under the leadership of head coach
Steve Pikiell, will have home-and-home match-ups with Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State during its 20-game league slate. The Scarlet Knights will also welcome Maryland, Michigan and Nebraska to the RAC. On the road in Big Ten play, Rutgers will travel to Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin. Each Big Ten men's program will once again play two league games in early December.
The women's program, under the direction of
C. Vivian Stringer, will welcome Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin and is set for home-and-home matchups with Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State in conference action. Single road game contests include games at Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Nebraska.
In non-conference play, men's basketball will host St. John's in the Gavitt Tip-Off, as well as regional foes Drexel, Fairleigh Dickinson and Columbia, during a 10-game non-league slate that includes road games at Miami (ACC/Big Ten Challenge), Fordham and Seton Hall (Garden State Hardwood Classic).
Women's basketball will travel to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday, Nov. 28, during its non-conference slate.
