PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Aug. 23, 2018) – Rutgers softball head coach Kristen Butler will make her debut on the diamond during the Scarlet Knights' fall 2018 schedule, announced by RU's new leader on Thursday.
 
The Scarlet Knights will get their first look at game action in an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 29 at the RU Softball Complex, and again on Saturday, Oct. 6.
 
Butler lined up eight contests against local opponents, beginning with a trip to Rider on Sunday, Sept. 30, where they will also take on Princeton.
 
Rutgers travels to Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, Oct. 14 for a doubleheader, and treks to Drexel for a double-dip on Saturday, Oct. 20.
 
The Scarlet Knights wrap up fall ball by hosting a doubleheader against LIU Brooklyn at the RU Softball Complex on Sunday, Oct. 21.
 
Rutgers returns Big Ten All-Conference selection Jess Hughes, who gets set for her senior season at shortstop and at the top of the batting order.
