COLLEGE PARK, MD. – For the second consecutive match, sophomore forward
Amirah Ali lifted Rutgers women's soccer (6-1-3, 2-0-1) to victory in overtime, this time at Maryland (3-5-3, 1-2-0) on Sunday afternoon.

Nneka Moneme put RU on the board first in the 78th minute of the match. UMD responded in the 86th with a goal to send the contest into overtime. Less than a minute into extra time, senior back
Kenie Wright fed the ball to Ali for the win.
QUICK STATS
Ali posted a goal and an assist in the match, marking her seventh goal of the year and second assist of the season. Moneme posted her third goal of the season and second in Big Ten action.

Meagan McClelland notched a save in the win.
UMD's Anissa Mose registered the goal for the Terrapins, while goalkeeper Rachel Egyed posted six saves in the loss.
THE MATCH
Despite RU leading in shots, 8-1, in the first half, UMD's keeper notched five saves to keep the board blank heading into halftime.
In the 78th minute, Ali crossed from the right wing to Moneme, who scored on an open net for a 1-0 Scarlet Knight advantage.
With four minutes left in the match, Maryland's Mose collected a rebound off a free kick, scoring with a shot from outside the 18-yard box to force extra time.
Less than a minute into overtime, Wright fed the ball to Ali in the box. Ali turned and scored to the left corner for the win.
UP NEXT
Rutgers continues a three-game road swing at Wisconsin on Thursday, Sept. 27th for a 8 p.m. ET match on Big Ten Network. The Scarlet Knights then travel to Minnesota on Sunday, Sept. 30.
KNIGHT NOTES
- Last match, Amirah Ali scored the game winner in the final 11 seconds of the match versus Iowa, bringing her season total to six goals. Ali also netted the game winner in the ranked overtime win over Wisconsin last season, scoring 26 seconds into the first OT period.
- Kenie Wright also assisted the game winner last match against the Hawkeyes.
- Moneme and Ali have scored in back-to-back matches for the Scarlet Knights.
- Rutgers last four matches have entered overtime, as the Scarlet Knights hold a record of 2-0-2 in those contests.
