
Three Rutgers Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Drafted in NLL Draft

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse had three former student-athletes selected in the 2018 National Lacrosse League Draft on Tuesday night. Jules Heningburg and Austin Divitcos were drafted by the San Diego Seals, while Michael Rexrode was picked by the Philadelphia Wings.
The Seals, an expansion franchise, selected the two Rutgers players with back-to-back picks. In the third round, they selected Heningburg 38th overall, and followed that up in the fourth round with Divitcos at 41st overall. The Wings drafted Rexrode in the 6th round, 64th overall.
Heningburg was a two-time All-American and two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection at attack for Rutgers. The Maplewood, N.J. native finished his RU career second all-time at Rutgers in points (207), seventh all-time at Rutgers in goals (117) and eighth all-time in assists (90). He began his professional career this summer with 15 goals and 10 assists in eight games for the MLL's Florida Launch.
Divitcos was a Rutgers team captain as a senior last season. The short-stick defensive midfielder from Richmond Hill, Ontario played in 51 career games 'On the Banks' with three goals, six assists, 24 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. He was selected for the North vs. South All-Star Game. A graduate of the Rutgers Business School, he will be a graduate assistant coach for Colorado Mesa University this year.
Rexrode was a two-time All-American and two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection. The Leesburg, Va. native was the 2018 Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient and 2018 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He began his professional career this summer in the MLL with the Florida Launch and Denver Outlaws. The last Scarlet Knight to play for the Philadelphia Wings was Mike Diehl. A graduate of the Rutgers School of Engineering, Rexrode has a job with Boening, and will be the head coach of Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, Washington.
