Four Scarlet Knights set to compete in NWSL match at Yurcak Field
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers women's soccer has seen numerous Scarlet Knights continue play in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Currently, four of them are signed to professional contracts in the league and are set to square off on the pitch this Saturday at Yurcak Field.
Kristen Edmonds of Orlando Pride and Carli Lloyd, Erika Skroski, and Madison Tiernan of Sky Blue FC will reunite when the clubs meet for the regular season finale. A match hosted on familiar turf at Yurcak Field, the home of Rutgers women's soccer.
Edmonds has started 13 of 15 games for the Pride, registering a goal for the squad.
Lloyd, who returned to her home state club for the 2018 season, has started 16 of 17 matches for Sky Blue. She has registered three goals and an assist on the season.
Tiernan has collected two goals and one assist across 21 appearances and 14 starts, while Skroski has started 19 contests in the back line.
While the four may be suited up in different kits, it will be a reunion of the Rutgers women's soccer family on their old stomping grounds this Saturday, Sept. 8 at Noon.
