Dec 17 | Men's Lacrosse
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse was ranked 16th in the nation as the Nike/US Lacrosse Magazine poll was released on Tuesday.
The Scarlet Knights are expected to face seven teams ranked among the poll's top-20 this season. Five of the six teams in the Big Ten are ranked, with another listed in the 'also considered' section.
Rutgers is coming off a season that saw the program qualify for the Big Ten Tournament (hosted by RU), defeat No. 4 Ohio State on the road and claim a rivalry victory over in-state foe Princeton. The Scarlet Knights had three All-Americans, and set program records with four All-Big Ten players, five Scholar All-Americans and placed four in the North/South game.
The Scarlet Knights will return their top six point scorers from last season. That group is led by a pair of 60-plus point scorers and First Team All-Big Ten selection in Adam Charalambides (47 goals and 14 assists) and Kieran Mullins (23 goals and 37 assists).
