
Brown Captures Fourth Straight Big Ten Indoor Title in the 400m

Brown becomes first Scarlet Knight with four Big Ten titles in same event
Freshman A'Nan Bridgett claimed a medal of his own in the long jump, finishing third in his championship debut. Overall, the Scarlet Knights recorded seven podium finishes on the weekend.
FOUR STRIAGHT TITLES
Brown claimed his fourth gold in the 400m with a time of 45.82, becoming the first Scarlet Knight to earn four Big Ten titles in the same event. The senior also took first in the race in 2016, 2017, and 2018. He was named First Team All-Big Ten following the meet.

Additionally, the Amsterdam, New York, native owns the Big Ten and Rutgers indoor record in the 400m with a time of 45.32 set when he claimed the 2017 title. He now owns five conference 400m titles, also taking gold in the outdoor season as a freshman in 2016.
Brown is the only runner in Scarlet Knight history with four straight conference titles in a single event. Former Scarlet Knight Sam Segond collected four straight BIG EAST Outdoor titles in the discus from 2002-05.
PODIUM FINISHES
Freshman A'Nan Bridgett collected a bronze medal in the long jump on day one, placing third with a mark of 7.27m (23' 10.25"). Bridgett became the second Scarlet Knight to earn a medal in the indoor event.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of senior Sterling Pierce, freshman Christopher Jenkins, sophomore Taj Burgess and Brown broke the Rutgers indoor record with a time of 3:08.00. The quartet finished fourth in the event, less than a tenth of a second behind the third-place team.

RU finishes fourth in the event at #B1GTF Championships, less than a tenth of a second from third place.
Burgess finished fourth in the 400m, clocking an indoor PR of 46.49. The mark was nearly one tenth of a second behind the third-place finisher.
The distance medley relay team consisting of sophomore Billy Hill, sophomore Edwyn Pierre, and juniors Jared Skalski and Cole Pschunder, posting at time of 9:55.87 to place eighth in the race. It marked the first time the Scarlet Knights have earned a podium finish in the event at Big Ten's.
In field events, junior Perry Christie finished fourth in the high jump with a result of 2.13m (6' 11.75). Christie was just shy of the second and third place mark of 2.16m.
Junior Jairus Paul finished eighth in the triple jump, registering a mark of 14.91m (48' 11").
TRACK EVENTS
In the unseeded 5000m heat, junior Cole Pschunder finished sixth with a personal-best time of 14:41.84. Senior Conor Murphy followed in eighth with a time of 14:56.41.
Jenkins clocked a time of 48.40 in the 400m final.
FIELD EVENTS
Freshman Kamron Kobolak made his championship debut in the shot put, recording a throw of 15.46m (50' 8.75").
