
Garrett Michaeli Selected by Chesapeake Bayhawks

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse long-stick midfielder Garrett Michaeli is the newest member of the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The senior was selected Friday in Major League Lacrosse's Rookie Selection.
Michaeli has played in 50 games in a Scarlet Knights uniform. The Draper, Utah native has collected 101 ground balls and caused 45 turnovers, including career-highs this season in both categories with 45 ground balls (leading the team) and 17 caused turnovers. also has added four goals and three assists for seven points. He is fourth in the Big Ten this season with 1.3 caused turnovers per game.
An Economics major, Michaeli was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2018. He also earned a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor that season following the season-opening win over Robert Morris.
Michaeli joins Kyle Pless (Denver Outlawas) as members of this senior class to join professional lacrosse. Since head coach Brian Brecht arrived at Rutgers in 2012, Michaeli marks the 15th Rutgers player picked up by a MLL squad.
