Edelmann Joins Chesapeake Bayhawks

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse goalkeeper Max Edelmann is the newest Scarlet Knight to embark on a professional lacrosse career, as he was aquired this week by the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
Edelmann recently concluded an accomplished Rutgers career, which this season saw him named a Third Team All-American, First Team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Co-Specialist of the Year, All-ECAC and was a participant in the North/South Senior All-Star Game. He averaged 14.69 saves per game, which led the nation at the conclusion of the regular season, while posting a 55.8% save percentage that led the conference and was ninth nationally. The Middletown, Md. native recorded double-digit saves in every game, reaching at least 17 saves on six different occasions. A two-time Big Ten weekly award winner, he became the eighth player in Rutgers' program history to surpass 500 career saves. The team captain majored in Labor Studies and Employment Relations and is working towards a postgraduate degree.
Edelmann joins fellow Rutgers graduating senior Garrett Michaeli on the Bayhawks, while Kyle Pless will play this summer for the Denver Outlaws. Since head coach Brian Brecht arrived at Rutgers in 2012, Edelmann marks the 16th Rutgers player picked up by a MLL squad.
