PISCATAWAY, N.J – No. 21 Rutgers field hockey has a split-location two-game weekend coming up. The Scarlet Knights will host No. 9 Delaware on Friday (4 p.m., then travel to Monmouth on Sunday (2 p.m.). The game versus the Blue Hens is High School Day, as well as the ROTC recognition and Midday Mayhem.

Rutgers looks to rebound from a pair of tightly-contested losses against ranked and undefeated opponents last weekend in No. 4 UConn and No. 17 St. Joe's. The team continues to be led offensively by
Austyn Cuneo, who has team-highs in goals (four), assists (two) and points (10). She currently paces the Big Ten Conference in goals per game (1.0) and points per game (2.5). The team is also sixth in the nation in penalty corners per game (6.5).
The Scarlet Knights have played three of their four games thus far against ranked teams, and that continues with No. 9 Delaware this Friday. The streak stretches to seven of their first nine games against ranked foes, including five currently in the top-10.
Rutgers has enjoyed success playing on its home field, where the team returns Friday. At home, the Scarlet Knights have won five straight, 11 of their past 13 and 16 of their past 20. Â

Delaware has started out the season with a 4-0 record, including ranked wins over No. 22 Albany (1-0) and then-No. 9 Penn State (3-1). Femke Strein is third in the nation in goals per game and goalkeeper Sydney Rhoads ranks in the top-five in goals-against-average (0.50) and save percentage (0.857).
The Blue Hens lead the all-time series 19-9-3, with the Scarlet Knights earning a 2-1 road victory last season over then-No. 19 Delaware on a second-half goal from
Kassidy Shetler.

Monmouth has opened the season with a 3-1 mark, earning wins over Longwood, Hofstra and Villanova and falling at Northeastern. The Hawks are fifth in the nation with four goals per game, with Yamsin Pratt leading the team with four markers.
Monmouth went 13-7 last season, winning the MAAC to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The all-time series between these two New Jersey teams is even at 4-4, with Rutgers winning three of the last four matchups between 2012 and 2015.
