LANGLEY, British Columbia – Former Rutgers men's lacrosse All-American Chris O'Dougherty helped lead Team USA to a bronze medal in the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship.
O'Dougherty played in seven games on defense for Team USA, collecting one assist. The Americans defeated Team Israel and Team England in pool play, then in the playoffs topped Team Czech Republic before defeating Team England again to earn the bronze medal.
The 2007 USILA Honorable Mention All-American started all but one game in his RU career, was a three-time captain and was the team's MVP for the 2008 season while anchoring the Scarlet Knight defense. Since his graduation, O'Dougherty has played professionally in both the MLL and the NLL.
O'Dougherty was a member of the Team USA in 2015 when they earned a bronze medal at the previous World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. O'Dougherty played in all seven games for Team USA on defense, collected 23 loose balls and also scored a goal on the offensive end.
