Kieran Mullins Named Candidate for Senior CLASS Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse senior attackman Kieran Mullins was named as a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award.
Kieran was a 2019 Honorable Mention All-American (USILA), First Team All-Big Ten, and All-ECAC honoree. He led the team last season with 37 assists and was second with 60 points and third with 23 goals.
He has excelled academically on the the pre-med track as a cell biology and neuroscience major in pursuit of a career as a doctor, holding a 3.8 cumulative GPA. Mullins was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society and is an Academic All-Big Ten recipient and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.Mullins is a two-time team captain, valued team leader, and active participant in the team's community service efforts.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The Scarlet Knights have a rich history with all-around candidates being recognized by this award committee. Since joining the Big Ten, Max Edelmann, Michael Rexrode, Christian Trasolini, Scott Bieda and Joe Nardella have all been selected as Senior CLASS Award candidates.

The 20 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists later in the season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced in conjunction with the NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship in May.
