Feb 05 | Men's Lacrosse
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse senior Kieran Mullins was named to the USILA Team of the Week following his performance in the season opening 20-9 win over Quinnipiac. The team captain led the squad on the day with seven points on two goals and a game-high five assists, also collecting four ground balls.
Mullins recorded all of his points in the opening 33 minutes of the game as the Scarlet Knights built a 15-5 lead to cruise to the victory. It was his second career game with at least five assists and third time in his career with at least seven points. Through 42 career games, Mullins has recorded 91 goals and 75 assists for 166 points. He is poised to break into the top-10 all-time at Rutgers in all three categories this season.
This was one of two weekly accolades for the Scarlet Knights, as Ethan Rall (4 GB, 3 CT) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
Rutgers will be back in action Saturday, hosting St. John's. The game starts at 3 p.m., following the season opener for the women's lacrosse program.
