No. 12 Wrestling Heads to Weekend Quad at Davidson

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 12 Rutgers wrestling hits the road to face Clarion, Davidson and UT-Chattanooga on Saturday in Davidson, North Carolina. The quad begins at 10 a.m. ET and will stream via Davidson's all-access channel, davidsonwildcats.com. The stream requires a subscription.

- The Scarlet Knights swept their season-opening quad with wins over NJCU (48-0), Cleveland State (35-3) and Binghamton (34-9) on Sunday in front of 3,367 fans at Jersey Mike's Arena.
- Rutgers produced 18 wins by bonus, including pins from David Campbell (133), Michael Cetta (141), John Poznanski (184), Greg Bulsak (197) Boone McDermott (HWT) and Alex Esposito (HWT). Poznanski went a perfect 3-0 on Sunday, which included an impressive 7-1 decision over 2021 NCAA qualifier DeAndre Nassar (Cleveland State).
- With the addition of McDermott to Intermat's national rankings, RU features nine wrestlers ranked in their respective weight classes. McDermott, who is ranked No. 29 in the country, went 2-0 this past weekend, which included a first period fall against John Kelbly (Cleveland State) and a first-period injury default win against No. 28 Joe Doyle (Binghamton), a 2021 NCAA qualifier.
- Three Scarlet Knights – No. 5/4 Sebastian Rivera (141), No. 5/5 John Poznanski (184) and No. 7/8 Jackson Turley (174) – are ranked within the top 10 of their respective weight classes. Poznanski (3-0) and Rivera (2-0) both went undefeated during weekend action, while Turley did not wrestle.
- Rutgers is a combined 6-0 all-time against the three programs, as it owns a 4-0 mark in the all-time series with Clarion along with wins against Davidson and UT-Chattanooga.

- Rutgers gets a week off from dual action before it competes in the inaugural Garden State Grapple event on Saturday, Nov. 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark. The Scarlet Knights face Hofstra (5:30 p.m.) and No. 13 North Carolina (7 p.m.), while No. 23 Wisconsin will also participate in the neutral-site quad.
